You are encouraged to look at our company as your off-site personnel department.  Whether you're planning to hire a new employee or promote, evaluate, discipline, or terminate an old one, Landrum Professional needs to know.  Your assigned Human Resources Manager will provide you with current information that will assist in the process.  The following links briefly describe some of our human resource services:

Hiring/Rehiring
Personnel Records
Employee Handbooks
Terminations/Resignations
Progressive Discipline/Counseling

Hiring/Rehiring a New Employee
Your chief concern should be selecting the right person for the job, training them, motivating them, then monitoring them to assure yourself that they're doing quality work in a timely manner.  But, you must also be concerned that things are done right and in such a way that you could successfully defend a lawsuit or a legal claim if you are ever placed in that position.

We want to help you make good decisions at every step in the process.  Please feel free to call our Human Resources Managers to discuss any issue involving employees.  Our Human Resources professionals have many years of experience and professional certifications in Human Resources Management.  They can be reached by calling 476-5100 if you're in the Pensacola area, or toll free at 800-888-0472 if you're anywhere else.

Personnel Records
Employment records will be maintained in the human resources department of Landrum Professional.  Performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and other matters that affect an employee should be forwarded to Landrum Professional and placed in the employee's file.  If employment information is needed for verification by authorities, the employee should be reminded to contact Landrum Professional.  The employee will need to notify our office of changes in address, marital status, tax withholding status and other significant changes when they occur.

Employee Handbooks
Every employee is provided with a Landrum Professional Employee Handbook which provides information about the company and Landrum Professional's personnel policies and procedures.  It is extremely important that each employee read the handbook and sign an acknowledgement form.  This form will be placed in their personnel record.

Terminations/Resignations
A job termination is a very stressful and difficult event for any employee.  Please take every step possible to conduct discharge meetings with compassion and concern for the employee and his/her future well-being.

Landrum Professional recommends that you always consult with your Landrum Professional Human Resources Manager as far as possible in advance of any planned discharge to ensure that applicable laws and procedures are being followed.

Of course, if there is an immediate risk of violence to the employee or others, law enforcement officials should be contacted.

Progressive Discipline/Counseling
When an employee fails to abide by your company rules of conduct, he or she may be disciplined.  The initial action may be a verbal warning reminding the employee that he or she has violated a work rule, further violation of that rule could result in more stringent discipline.  A second violation by the employee should be in written form.  Although the law does not require the issuance of warnings, we recommend written counseling in situations where immediate termination is not required.  Any such warnings to the employee should be in written form with the employee's signature.  Landrum Professional provides an Employee Counseling Record form for this purpose.
